Aqualand hotel is located in Psalidi, Kos, on a steel hill slope. Its distance from the sea makes it somewhat difficult for the guest to visit easily. For that reason, the hotel owner decided to create alternative motivation and ways of having fun. The idea was to design a small waterpark with an open view to Psalidi coastline and to provide an open theatre for concerts and theatre shows. The design strategy was to enjoy a colourfull mix of styles and different elements, to skip the “academic” and shift towards a more funny style. Mythic elements were bound together with ancient greek vocabulary and scenic walls were created to establish an open-enclosed space.
